Dillberry Lake Incident Update

Public Update on Response and Controlled Access at Dillberry Lake Provincial
The M.D. of Wainwright is providing a public update regarding response and recovery operations at Dillberry Lake Provincial Park following the severe weather event on the evening of July 8, 2026.
Severe weather caused significant damage to campsites in the park, with limited damage reported to cabins.
Emergency response was initiated immediately. RCMP remain in command of the scene and continue to oversee public safety, evacuation, and access management.
At this time, all campers have been accounted for, and a full grid search has been completed. There has been no loss of life. Three individuals were transported for medical assessment with injuries, with a total of five injured.
Current access and evacuation information:
* Please note access is for the purpose of removing personal belongings only at this stage, and not trailers.
– Loop A (sites 1–20) and Loop B (sites 21–44) remain under controlled evacuation and access procedures.
– Loop C (sites 45–83) is now also being evacuated under limited traffic access only.
– Access is restricted to registered campers only.
– Identification is required, and RCMP will verify identity before entry is permitted.
– Entry remains at RCMP discretion.
– Not all sites are currently accessible.
Members of the public are asked not to crowd roadways or travel to the area unless directed to do so. Keeping roads clear is essential to support emergency operations and the safe movement of affected campers and responders.
