Shelterbelt Program

The M.D. of Wainwright is pleased to announce the newly created Shelterbelt Establishment Program is officially open for applications!

This new program operates under a 50/50 cost share model on a first-come, first-served basis and is available to M.D. of Wainwright ratepayers to utilize for up to 1,000 trees per year per applicant. Pre selected species are being offered in the inaugural year and include blue spruce, white spruce, lodgepole pine, okanese poplar, Manitoba maple, trembling aspen, red osier dogwood and villosa lilac through a partnership with TreeTime – visit https://treetime.ca/ for resources and to start planning your spring shelterbelt today!
