MUNICIPAL DISTRICT OF WAINWRIGHT
NOTICE OF PUBLIC OPEN HOUSE
The Municipal District of Wainwright No. 61 is working to prepare a new Municipal Development Plan (MDP) and Land Use Bylaw (LUB) pursuant to the Municipal Government Act, R.S.A 2000, c. M-26, as amended. These documents are the primary land management tools for subdivision and development in the M.D.

The M.D.’s current MDP and LUB were adopted in 2007. The LUB has been amended many times and both the MDP and LUB must be revised to meet current Provincial requirements and development issues in the M.D. This new draft MDP and LUB were prepared to ensure that the subdivision and development regulations are consistent with the amended Municipal Government Act, other recent amendments to Provincial legislation, and that they reflect the current development and regulatory environments affecting lands within the M.D.

As such, the M.D. would like to invite residents to attend a public meeting at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, February 13, 2023 at the Wainwright Communiplex (700–2nd Avenue, Wainwright), in Hall 1.

Representatives of the M.D. and its planning consultants, Municipal Planning Services (2009) Ltd., will be in attendance, and the public will be asked to provide their thoughts on future land use, development and redevelopment within the Wainwright region.
