The Municipal District of Wainwright No. 61 (the “MD”) is seeking proposals in response to this RFP in relation to: Supply of approximately 1000 tonnes of Road Salt for The Municipal District of Wainwright No. 61. 2023 – 2024 season. Proposals will be received by:

Time and date for the closing of the RFP is:

11:00:00 a.m. MST on June 06, 2023

(the “RFP Closing Date”)

  1. The proposal package can be obtained at the M.D. of Wainwright office or at purchasingconnection.ca.
  2. Proposals cannot be withdrawn and must be irrevocable for a period of ninety (90) days after the RFP Closing Date in order to allow for the MD to evaluate the various proposals and to undertake the negotiations, if it so desires, with the selected proponents.
  3. The MD reserves the right to accept or reject any and all proposals and to waive irregularities and informalities at its discretion.
  4. All written inquiries regarding the technical aspects of the Request for Proposals shall be directed to Preston Iverson, Director of Public Works at 717 – 14th Avenue, Wainwright, Alberta, T9W 1B3 or emailed to piverson@mdwainwright.ca, however, each proponent acknowledges and agrees that the MD does not have an obligation to provide a response to any written inquiry.  Telephone inquiries will not be replied to.
  5. If the MD, in its sole and unfettered discretion, determines that a written response to an inquiry is warranted, a written response will be prepared and distributed to all proponents who have requested a copy of the Request for Proposals and completed the acknowledgment form.  Such written response(s) will be issued in the form of an addendum to the Request for Proposals and will be deemed to be part of the Request for Proposals.

 

Road Ban Lift Notice

ROAD BAN LIFT NOTICE

Please be advised that all road bans within the Municipal District of Wainwright No. 61 – with the exception of Clear Lake – will be lifted effective May 4, 2023.

FULL FIRE BAN IN EFFECT

FULL FIRE BAN NOTICE

Due to the lack of moisture, dry conditions and high fire hazard, the Municipal District of Wainwright No. 61 has implemented a Full Fire Ban effective Friday, April 28th, 2023. The Municipal District of Wainwright will not be issuing any new fire permits until further notice and all existing permits are now rescinded.

This Full Fire Ban:

1. Prohibits all fires and the issuance of new fire permits for all rural areas within the M.D. of Wainwright including the Hamlets of Jarrow, Fabyan, Greenshields and Ribstone.
2. Prohibits all fires including all open fire pits, as well as charcoal briquette barbecues.
3. Still allows propane or gas barbecues.

According to Section 5.2 of the Proposed Land Use Bylaw:
5.2.1 The following development shall not require a development permit if the development otherwise complies with all the
regulations of this Bylaw:
k. A building or structure with a gross floor area of under 14.0 sq. m (150.7 sq. ft.), which is not on a permanent foundation.

Proposed Land Use Bylaw Section 9.7

According to section 9.7 of the Proposed Land Use Bylaw:
9.7.1 No person shall keep or permit in any part of any yard in any Country Residential, Urban General, or Lakeside Residential
District:
a. any dismantled or wrecked vehicle for more than fourteen (14) successive days;
b. any object or chattel which, in the opinion of the Development Authority, is
unsightly or tends to adversely affect
the amenities of the district in which it is located;
c. any excavation, storage or piling up of materials required during construction
unless all necessary safety measures
are taken, and the owner of such materials or excavations assumes full
responsibility to ensure the situation does
not prevail any longer than reasonably necessary to complete a particular stage of
construction work.
