Municipal District of Wainwright Calendar Photo Contest
Send us your photos that capture the diversity of our agriculture
and the environment within the M.D. of Wainwright!
Selected photos will be published in a 13-month calendar featuring photos, tips, facts and information on sustainable agriculture and the environment. The 13 photos chosen will each be awarded one hundred dollars ($100.00) each.
Contest Rules
- This contest is open to all amateur photographers
- Only 10 entries per photographer allowed
- Maximum of 2 winning photos per photographer
- Photographs that have been submitted to other contests are not eligible to enter
- Photos must be original, please do not submit pictures from previous years if already viewed by the M.D. of Wainwright
- Photos must be taken within the M.D. of Wainwright boundaries. Photographer must be a resident of the M.D. of Wainwright (pays taxes to the municipality)
- No entry fee required, photos are mailed back to original owner
Format
Images in color are favored, however black/white and sepia are also accepted. All images are preferred to be in at least 4”x 6” size and not mounted. The preferred format of photo is original hard-copy (we have tried digital submissions, however it is difficult to merge the properties with our calendar publisher. The best format is to scan the original). For digital images, the original file resolution must be saved at a print quality of 600 pixels/inch or greater at an image size of 4” x 6”. Digital images will be accepted by email, however a hard copy may be required, if a winning photograph. It is recommended that digital cameras be set at their “highest” or “best” resolution to ensure the highest quality image possible.
Identification
Pictures that are submitted must have a completed entry form attached and photos must be clearly labeled with the entrants’ name, address, and phone number.
Judging
Pictures will be selected from each category based on a panel of M.D. of Wainwright judges. Photos will be judged on the merits of clarity and quality, and the unique perspective of the photo(s). The deadline for photo submission is August 12, 2011.
Suggested Categories: 13 Pictures
- First: Agriculture, Environment
- Second: Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall
- Then final break down into no more than 2 cattle, 2 field crops, 1 horse, 1 recreation, 1 building, 1 vegetation, 5 other
- Photos with recognizable humans are not eligible
